Tracey's Update - 6 weeks remaining

Hello everyone!
A big thanks to all of you who have been reading my blog and sending emails my way. I appreciate your support and words of kindness. It certainly has made my 9 month stay easier, you're the best!

I must take a moment to thank those who sponsored me through Project HOPE in Canada. Your donations have made a difference and I'm at this end to see to it! I could not have stayed here as long, if it wasn't for you. Cash is still hard to come by since I haven't worked a corporate job in over a year so bless you for blessing me!

Well I have less than 6 weeks remaining and quite excited about plans to launch the new OVC Centre at Isubilo. I've been living in town with Kristi (from St. Catherines) and Julia (from UK) housesitting John & Priya's, so having great fun with the girls!

My relationships with the kids / our Zambian staff has been so rewarding. I've learned some of their bemba language and bonded well with many different age groups.
Their loyalty to friendship and family is so unremarkable. Some may be poverty stricken but they can certainly teach us a lesson or two...

As I sit and watch the sunset, I reflect on my days in Africa and realize how much I have grown. Doesn't matter how old you are, life is always full of new experiences to live by!

Hi Trace:
Just read your blog this morning and can't believe you only have 6 weeks left in Africa. I'm sure you will have mixed feelings about leaving - anxious to see all your family and friends, but sad to leave all your African friends. What an amazing experience it has been for you.

We'll also need to schedule another one after that when you return. I'm sure you'll have lots to tell us.

Take care my friend - good luck with the project and we all look forward to seeing you before too long.

Lots of love,
Cath
